More than 1,800 people were confirmed dead and many more were feared trapped under rubble Sunday in Nepal's worst earthquake in more than 80 years. The official death toll from the magnitude-7.9 earthquake reached 1,805, the Home Ministry said. One official said that figure could triple. Saturday's quake flattened buildings across the country and razed many historic landmarks. It was also felt in China, Bangladesh and India, where more than 40 deaths were reported. Buildings in the ancient centre of Kathmandu were destroyed, leaving mounds of timber and rubble, local television reported. EPA/NARENDRA SHRESTHA

Pray for the people of Nepal as they have endured a second major earthquake in two weeks. More lives have been lost as the death toll continues to rise from the initial quake. Below is an update on Foursquare Disaster Relief’s efforts to care for the physical and spiritual needs of people. As we mentioned two weeks ago in our Global Prayer Focus, Nepal lies in the 10/40 window, a geographic region where the majority of unreached people (those who have yet to experience the gospel in their language and culture) live.
